This continuing education course focuses on the issue of workplace violence and the issue of the active shooter.
Students will better understand the causes and warning signs of developing sitiations as well as strategies for dealing with conflcts in the workplace.
The program then will look at the worst case scenario of violence in the worklace in the form of a active shooter situation.
Students will learn about the psychology of these events and how they can develop not only from workplace conflicts, but also from terrorist events.
Finally the program will offer information on the response to be expected from law enforcement and what are the most sucessful strategies for surviving these events.

Description:
Enhanced Information Gathering and Report Writing is a continuing education class for both Private Detectives and Protective Agents. This is a extension of our Obsevatonal Psychology class that adds techniques to improve the students overall scene evaluation and report writing skills.
Students will explore observation as a professional skill and be given direction on improving that skill in their information gathering phase of effective report writing. Techniques for evaluating deceit, stress and anger in subjects will be explored as well as methods focusing on bettering an officer's recall skills.
Students will particpate on classroom scenarios and report writing excercises.

Each session wlll address different aspects of combat shooting and will allow students to engage in techniques that are not normally available during commercial range time.
These courses can be taken together or separately. Course can also be repeated if the student wishes to "brush up" on any skills.
These courses require the student to have a current carry permit, a suitable defensive firearm and holster, and each session will require about 200 rounds of ammo. Cost is $75 to attend all three sessions.
Session #1 involves focus on concealed draw techniques, emergency and tactical reloading, and malfunction clearing.
