This is the Initial Armed certification for Private Detectives and Protective Agents in the use of Handguns.This program qualifies for the Minnesota Personal Protection Act and may also be used as Continuing Armed training.
Cost is $130 and students must provide their own weapon and ammunition (100 rounds). Holster is recommended, but not required. Rentals are available at range.

Description:
Minnesota Personal Protection Act-This is the civilian program to obtain a firearms carry permit under the Minnesota Personal Protection Act.
Students are required to provide their own suitable firearm (Semi-automatic or double acion revolver only!), 50 rounds of ammunition, and hearing and eye protection. Holsters are strongly recomended, but not required. Cost is $75(summer special) for new certification and $50 for recertification. The entire program will be covered in one class>
A multi-state carry permit class will immediately follow the Minnesota program for those interested.

This is a continuing training class focused on raising the attendee's knowledge and recognition of possible drugs they may encounter during incidents they respond to. The course will show multiple photos of various street drugs and paraphernalia and discuss the trafficking patterns for each.

Description:
Enhanced Information Gathering and Report Writing is a continuing education class for both Private Detectives and Protective Agents. This is a extension of our Obsevatonal Psychology class that adds techniques to improve the students overall scene evaluation and report writing skills.
Students will explore observation as a professional skill and be given direction on improving that skill in their information gathering phase of effective report writing. Techniques for evaluating deceit, stress and anger in subjects will be explored as well as methods focusing on bettering an officer's recall skills.
Students will particpate on classroom scenarios and report writing excercises.

Description:
This series of instruction are 4 hour long sessions focused on improving a students general defensive shooting skills in a convenient format.
Each session will address different aspects of combat shooting and will allow students to engage in techniques that are not normally available during commercial range time. Classes are divided by the skill and experience level to allow everyone to get the most out of their training time whether it be a first time student or seasoned shooter.
These courses require the student to have a current carry permit, a suitable defensive firearm and holster, and each session will require about 200 rounds of ammo. Cost is $25 per session ($20 for EPS alumni).
